Code source:Official historical code (does not indicate current availability for application)

This code appears in an official USCIS historical code table, establishing that the code did exist; this does not mean applications can still be made under it today.

The AFM lists P75 (P7-5) as retired, but the current USCIS Policy Manual, Volume 7, Part L, Chapter 2, still designates P7-5 as the adjustment code for persons granted conditional entry before 1980-04-01 who apply for LPR status.

Status unverified

This site has not yet verified through official materials whether this pathway is currently available; the existence of a code is not used to presume that it is open or closed.

Not all of the following working fields have completed legal review. See the newly added verification for the current status of the pathway; unverified fields, such as translated names and legal authorities, are not thereby elevated to verified status, nor does this constitute individualized legal advice.

Status recorded at the time of the original snapshot (not a conclusion about current status)
  • Applies only to persons granted conditional entry under the seventh preference before 1980-04-01 who apply for LPR status today (processed as refugee adjustment); no new conditional entrants are created after the Refugee Act of 1980.

Fields that were unverified at the time of the original snapshot remain unchanged. See the newly added pathway verification for current status; other fields are not thereby elevated to verified status.

Original Snapshot Notes (Not Current Status)

The original English wording in the AFM is a sentence fragment and is preserved as written. Under the USCIS Policy Manual Vol.7 Part L Ch.2: persons granted seventh-preference 'conditional entry' before 1980-04-01 (the former law applied to persons from Communist countries or the Middle East, and victims of natural disasters) who apply for LPR status today are processed under refugee adjustment provisions (INA 209), with adjustment code P7-5; this is limited to that pre-1980 cohort and is not a marriage-based conditional green card under INA 216.

11General Limitations for Existing Holders

  • Discontinuation of a code does not automatically revoke LPR status previously lawfully obtained; an individual's status still depends on subsequent facts.

This page compiles code reference materials. It does not constitute legal advice or determine any individual's current immigration status.
